Washington Nationals Big & Tall Apparel | S–6XL, XLT–5XLT
Three stores sell Washington Nationals big & tall apparel online — Fanatics, FansEdge and MLB Shop — and they do not carry the same stock, run the same sales, or run out of the big sizes at the same speed. This page compares all three for Nationals clothing in men’s sizes S, M, L, XL, 2X (XXL), 3X (3XL), 4X (4XL), 5X (5XL) and 6X (6XL), tall sizes XLT (XT), 2XLT (2XT), 3XLT (3XT), 4XLT (4XT) and 5XLT (5XT), and women’s plus sizes 1X, 2X, 3X and 4X. The size links that have always been on this page — the 2019 World Series champs lists at Fanatics — are still here and repaired.
Under them you’ll find each store’s Nationals team page, where that store shows its full current size range.

The Verdict: Nationals Big & Tall at Fanatics, FansEdge and MLB Shop
Checked October 30, 2026. All three stores carry a real Nationals range — roughly a thousand men’s products each at FansEdge and MLB Shop, and the full Fanatics catalog. The differences that matter to a big & tall shopper are narrower and more specific than the homepages suggest:
- Fanatics 🏆
Men’s Nationals range: The full catalog, tees to jerseys
Tall sizes (XLT–5XLT): The deep tall range — tall cuts across most product types
Best for: Tall shoppers, and the 2019 champs gear below - FansEdge
Men’s Nationals range: 1,014 products
Tall sizes (XLT–5XLT): Thin — about 10–14 pieces, mostly polos and one jacket line
Best for: Price-checking; older designs surface here - MLB Shop
Men’s Nationals range: 1,026 products
Tall sizes (XLT–5XLT): Thin — the same small tall slice, about 10 pieces
Best for: League-store designs the others skip
The short version: if you wear a tall size, start at Fanatics — at the other two stores, the entire tall Nationals selection is a handful of Cutter & Buck polos and a jacket.
If you wear a regular big size (2X–5X), all three are worth the thirty seconds it takes to compare, because of this:
Why checking two stores saves real money
Each of these shops runs its own promotions on its own days. The hoodie that is full price at one store on Tuesday can be the sale item at another on Wednesday, and the big sizes are usually the first thing a sale clears out.
So the routine that pays: find your team page below, open it at two stores, pay the lower price. Bookmark this page — the stores are lined up here side by side, which makes the comparison a thirty-second job instead of six open tabs and a headache.
Nationals Sizes, Translated
Stores write the same sizes different ways. Here is the whole run, spelled out:
Regular
- S, M, L, XL — written the same everywhere
- XXL = 2X = 2XL = 2XB
- 3XL = 3X = 3XB
- 4XL = 4X = 4XB
- 5XL = 5X = 5XB
- 6XL = 6X = 6XB
Tall
- XLT = XT = LT
- 2XLT = 2XT
- 3XLT = 3XT
- 4XLT = 4XT
- 5XLT = 5XT
A tall size is not a bigger size — it is the same width with length added through the body and sleeves. If shirts that fit your chest still stop above your belt, you do not need a wider shirt, you need a tall one. On each store’s team page below, the sizes are listed in that store’s own spelling; now you can read all three dialects.
The 2019 World Series Gear Is Still Here — Barely
This page started life as a 2019 championship page, and that gear keeps its corner, because it came from the most fun month Washington baseball has ever had. The Nationals started that season 19-31. The manager kept telling everyone to “stay in the fight,” the fight became the slogan, and the slogan ended up attached to a trophy: a Wild Card comeback against Milwaukee on Juan Soto’s bases-loaded single, Howie Kendrick’s tenth-inning grand slam to knock out a 106-win Dodgers team, a sweep of St. Louis, and then a World Series against Houston where the road team won all seven games — the first time that ever happened.
In Game 7, Max Scherzer pitched five innings three days after he could barely lift his arm, Anthony Rendon homered to start the comeback, and Kendrick hooked the go-ahead shot off the right-field foul pole. Stephen Strasburg, winner of Games 2 and 6 in Houston, was the Series MVP.
Almost none of those guys are Nationals anymore — Rendon left for the Angels that winter, Scherzer and Trea Turner were traded to the Dodgers in 2021, Soto was dealt to San Diego in 2022, and Strasburg’s shoulder ended his career not long after the parade. Ryan Zimmerman, the franchise’s first draft pick, retired in 2022 and his number 11 hangs at Nationals Park.
Which is the honest truth about the gear below: it is history now, and history is exactly why people still buy it. These are the same size lists this page has always carried, opening the Fanatics champs stock that is left. It thins out a little more every season, big sizes fastest.

A Curly W, a Shark Song, and Four Racing Presidents
The curly W on the cap is older than the team. Washington’s original Senators wore a script W generations ago; when baseball came back to DC in 2005 — the franchise had spent 36 years as the Montreal Expos — the Nationals revived the curly letter instead of inventing something new. It is why the logo feels like it belongs to two eras at once.
The Expos years are not erased, either: the Nationals retired numbers honor Expos greats alongside their own, and longtime fans still argue about which identity got the better teams.
Two pieces of ballpark culture every Nationals fan knows. The Presidents Race sends giant-headed George, Tom, Abe and Teddy (later joined by Bill) around the warning track in the fourth inning; Teddy Roosevelt lost for years — hundreds of races — before finally winning in 2012, and the drought got national news coverage.
And in 2019, outfielder Gerardo Parra picked his kids’ favorite song, “Baby Shark,” as his walk-up music. By October, 40,000 people were doing the chomping hand motion every time he batted. A kids’ song became the soundtrack of a championship, and nobody in Washington can hear it now without grinning.
Questions Nationals Shoppers Ask
Which store is best for a 5XLT Nationals hoodie?
Fanatics, and it is not close. FansEdge and MLB Shop carry only about ten to fourteen tall Nationals items total — mostly polos and a jacket — while Fanatics runs tall cuts across hoodies, tees and jerseys. Start on the Fanatics team page above; check the other two only if a polo or jacket is what you had in mind.
Why is the same shirt two different prices?
Because the stores set their own sale calendars. List prices match most of the time; sale prices do not, and they rotate on different days. That gap is the entire reason this page exists — thirty seconds of comparing beats paying whichever price happened to be standing still.
Is 6X Nationals gear actually out there?
Yes, but in a thinner slice of styles than 2X or 3X. The 6X link in the 2019 list above opens the 6X champs stock that remains, and each store’s team page shows its own current 6X range — some stores fold 6X into a general big & tall section rather than a stand-alone filter. If a favorite style stops at 5X, that is the manufacturer’s cut-off for that style, not a store hiding stock.
Do the women’s plus sizes run true?
The plus cuts (1X–4X) are genuinely different patterns from the regular sizes, with more room through the bust, waist and hips — not just scaled-up versions of the XL. Shoppers between sizes usually do better in the plus cut for tees, and in the regular cut for anything worn open over another layer, like a zip hoodie.
Keep Digging Around Washington Baseball
Cold-weather Nationals gear lives on the Washington Nationals jackets page. Across town in the winter, the big & tall Washington Capitals page covers the team that gave DC its other recent championship, in 2018. And every club’s extended sizes are gathered in one place on the MLB big & tall apparel hub.
